At a national food and beverage distributor, a communications campaign increased 401(k) participation by 10% and continues to build employees’ appreciation of personal responsibility for their health and finances, while supplying full information about the total benefits package.

The company wished to provide employees with a reason to take better care of their health and finances, as well as supply basic information needed to take advantage of company programs.

To accomplish this goal, the ROC Group developed a new quarterly newsletter focused on health and financial wellness to reinforce company values such as partnership and innovation.

The first issue of the newsletter focused on the 401(k) to increase awareness and participation in the company’s plan. Immediately after distribution of this issue, 401(k) participation increased by 10%.

As subsequent issues focused on other wellness programs, such as the Tobacco Cessation Program and the EAP, corresponding participation increased as well.

The newsletters won one Communicator Award and two Hermes Creative Awards.
